CUPE BC seeks funding for public libraries and schools
KELOWNA — CUPE BC President Paul Faoro and CUPE 2950 President Karen Ranaletta addressed the select standing committee on finance and government services in Kelowna on June 12.
“We feel it’s time for the library sector to get some extra attention, and we’re demanding the provincial government eliminate funding to elite private preparatory schools and provide more funding for kindergarten to Grade 12 public schools and public post-secondary institutions,” said Faoro.
The committee is gathering input to develop recommendations for the 2020 provincial budget.
